Smart band OEM: MOQ, cost drivers and timeline explained
If you are planning your own smart band, the first three questions are almost always the same: how many units do I have to order, what decides the price, and when will the goods arrive? This guide answers all three with the numbers we actually work with at our Shenzhen factory.
Quick answer: branded smart band orders start at 500 units (logo printing or laser engraving), a customized order ships about 30 days after sample approval, and the unit price depends mainly on the model, the quantity and how much you customize.
Minimum order quantities depend on what you customize
There is no single MOQ for a smart band. The minimum depends on how far you take the customization, because each step involves a different part of production:
- Logo silk-screen printing or laser engraving on the strap or case: from 500 units
- Custom startup logo and Bluetooth name (what users see when the band powers on and pairs): from 1,000 units
- An additional UI language and manual: from 3,000 units
- A custom color retail box: from 3,000 units
- Custom nylon straps (your own woven pattern or color): from 2,000 straps
You can combine these freely on most models. Many brands start with engraving and a custom Bluetooth name on a first order, then add their own retail box once the product has proven itself in their market.
If you only want to test demand, a neutral order (no customization) of a stock model is the lowest-risk way to begin.
What drives the cost of a smart band
We quote every order individually, because the unit price moves with a few clear factors:
- The model. Battery size, sensors (for example ECG or temperature), body materials and finish all change the bill of materials. A basic screenless band and an ECG or AI recorder band sit at very different price points.
- Quantity. Larger runs spread setup work and materials purchasing over more units.
- Customization level. Engraving is a light step; a new UI language or a custom box adds design, proofing and printing work.
- Straps and finishes. Woven nylon, sports silicone, Milanese mesh, brushed or polished bodies — most models offer several options, and the choice affects cost.
- Packaging and documents for your sales channel, such as retail boxes and multi-language manuals.

Timeline: from first inquiry to shipment
Samples first
Before any production order you can order samples of any model. Use them to check fit, sensors and app behavior with your own team and, ideally, a few real customers.
Order and deposit
We issue a proforma invoice. Scheduling starts on a 30% deposit by T/T, and the balance is paid before shipment.

We quote delivery as a window (for example, November 25–30) with a buffer for materials and clearance steps, so you can plan your launch around a date you can trust.
Quality control and shipping
Every order runs under our ISO9001 system with 100% final inspection. QC photos and test reports are available before dispatch, or you can send your own inspector. Once the balance is settled, we hand the goods to your forwarder or arrange shipping to your market.
